A Heartwarming Story: Fiona the Lost Dog Regains A Home and Her Sight

April 3, 2012

This is a story of an adorable puppy that is dark at first, but ends in a heartwarming display of happiness. If you haven’t already seen the viral video floating around about her, you’ll soon see why it’s such a hit. Last year a non-profit organization, Hope for Paws, run by Eldad and Audrey Hagar, a married couple, heard about a dog that was left to die in a pile of trash on the streets of L.A. The couple ventured out to find her and while at first they saw nothing, soon they realized that a very dirty and sad fluff ball (picture below) was located in a corner all by herself. It was evident that she couldn’t see out of either eye. The Hagars took her home, shaved her to get rid of fleas and started rehabilitating the girl they named Fiona.

While the video was actually filmed in two separate parts, these sections are now combined to seamlessly show how far Fiona has come. In the second half, the Hagars take Fiona to an eye doctor who learns that he can restore her sight in one eye. Fiona undergoes surgery and for the first time in who knows how long, she can see the world around her. Watch the video (below) to see her happy face as she begins to love life again. Wonderfully, Fiona is now living with a couple and their other dogs and seems as happy as can be.
