Siberian Tiger Cub Is An Honorary Dog

July 6, 2012

We’ve read some stories lately about dogs taking over the mother roll for other species, feeding them and caring for them. Well, this may be the strangest combination yet and also the most fascinating. According to Huffington Post, baby Siberian tiger cubs were born in a Russion zoo. The staff there could not have been happier until the mother refused to feed the litter.

Yekaterina Khodakova, the zoo founder, came to the rescue. She has a Shar Pei pooch who, conveniently, just had her very own puppies. Khodakova’s Shar Pei, took to feeding the tiger cubs, one named Plyusha, as if they were her very own.(dog walking services nyc)

Take a look through the amazing photos of the dogs (via AP/Igor Yakunin) and tigers interacting in a home environment! It looks like Khodakova has her hands full with babies of the tiger, dog, cat and human variety.
