Joy
Joy was born and raised in Lake Tahoe, California, and has lived in New York for the past two years. Previous to this she was traveling and snowboarding all over the world. Her love for animals, and especially dogs, came from her upbringing in a Ranch like setting nestled on the edge of National Forest which allowed for a childhood surrounded by animals, both domestic and wild. The household was never without 2 dogs, a cat, 2 horses, rabbits, and chickens. Her mother raised and trained German Shepherds for Search and Rescue using Joy and her brother as training tools for the dogs, which allowed for lots of play time deep in the woods and when they were wanted home, she would send the dogs to get them. She decided to take up dog walking when her beloved Malamute Wolf Mix, Yuba aka Mr. Fur Pants, passed away last year, and to allow more time to pursue a career as a Private Chef. Blessed with the inability to never sit still, Joy loves walking dogs because they like to move and play outside just as much as she does. Previous to her employment with NYC-POOCH, Joy has been working in some of the best kitchens of New York and California. When not bounding about central park with her canine buddies, she spends her time dreaming up and experimenting with new recipes, practicing yoga, searching for new music, and surfing.
