Amanda
When Amanda was little she and her family adopted a Beagle/German Shepherd mix puppy with a sweet face and a crooked tail. 5-year-old Amanda named her Fifi because she had read poodles were intelligent and had hoped to find a poodle at the pound. No matter--Fifi became one of Amanda's best lifelong friends. Amanda also grew up with Chelsea, a jubilant German Shorthaired Pointer, as well as many gerbils, parakeets, lizards, and cats. She maintains a Facebook page for her feisty little Maine Coon, Rita Mae Brown, and also lives with a highly intelligent cross-eyed Siamese named Koshka. Amanda lived in southern Vermont for five years and has been in Brooklyn for almost two years. She is thrilled to be outside with her dogs for a good chunk of every afternoon. When not walking she can be found in a movie theater, working on documentary films, cooking, or reading progressive education theory and poetry.
