Shane (Founder)
Shane McEvoy is a born and raised New Yorker. His life-long love of dogs began with his family's beloved pooch, the wonderful and wily Mr. O, a poodle mutt of extraordinary intelligence. After his early days and the sad passing of Mr. O, Shane became a go-to dog sitter throughout the city while attending Hunter College in the Upper East Side. From his work in the city's top restaurants to his service as a doorman in Brooklyn Heights, he learned the irreplaceable value of honest, dedicated and friendly service. In 2007, Shane joined up with Dan to found NYC Pooch as they set out to bring their love of dogs beyond the West Side and into the rest of the city. Shane, when not out having a ball or playing tug of war with our dogs in Central Park is taking long canoe trips, writing poetry as a hobby, watching his beloved Mets or dabbling in city politics.
